Our Story
Iancy Foods Ltd is a Nigerian-based company that offers an exclusive brand of bread with different varieties.
Iancy-Foods business idea was born during the founder`s undergraduate degree in Food Science and Technology at University of Nigeria where he become aware of the problem of malnutrition among preschool children and pregnant women in Nigeria.
The World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that there has been a significant increase in the prevalence of undernutrition in Africa from 17.6% in 2014 to 19.1% in 2019 (more than 250 million undernourished people).
According to WHO, 1/3 of the world`s preschool-age population is vitamin-A deficient with sub-Saharan Africa and Nigeria specifically possessing the majority of the burden.
Hence, Iancy Foods Ltd aims to address the malnutrition problems in Nigeria among preschool-aged children and pregnant women through the industrial fortification of bread (popular staple food) with vitamin-A by incorporating a vitamin-A rich source like orange-fleshed sweet potato (OFSP) among others.
